In the 4th lesson, we dive deep into one of the essential technical skills for any DJ: Beatmatching.
We will practice synchronizing the tempo of two tracks using the Pitch Control slider and understand how to keep both tracks in sync with a metronome. You'll also learn about the two key parameters in beatmatching—speed and phase (beat position in the bar)—and how to master them using both your hands.
In this lesson, you'll:
Understand the role of Pitch Control and its unique positioning on turntables. Practice hands-on exercises to control the speed of the track and align it with the metronome. Develop critical motor skills with left-hand exercises to maintain beat and phase synchronization.
