In the 4th lesson, we dive deep into one of the essential technical skills for any DJ: Beatmatching.
We will practice synchronizing the tempo of two tracks using the Pitch Control slider and understand how to keep both tracks in sync with a metronome using the know-how of the 3 Steps of Beatmatching. You'll also learn about the two key parameters in beatmatching - speed and phase (beat position in the bar) - and how to master them using both your hands.
In this lesson, you'll:
Understand the role of Pitch Control and its unique positioning on turntables and Digital devices.. Practice hands-on exercises to control the speed of the track and align it with the metronome. Develop critical motor skills with left-hand exercises to maintain beat and phase synchronization.
By the end of this lesson, you'll have improved your ability to keep tracks in sync using the metronome, Pitch Control, and your hands. Whether you're using analog turntables or digital equipment, this lesson is designed to build your foundational beatmatching skills.
